今年2018年7月から上演されている、ジョン・ケアード脚本・演出によるミュージカル「ナイツ・テイル-騎士物語-」。今回は本作で共演している堂本光一と井上芳雄が、音楽番組で初共演を果たす。番組では堂本が「Endless SHOCK」から「Dancing On Broadway」を、18年公演版に出演したユウマ役の中山優馬、リカ役の瀧本美織、ふぉ～ゆ～の福田悠太と越岡裕貴、ジャニーズJr.の寺西拓人、松田元太、松倉海斗らと共に送り、井上は「エリザベート」から「最後のダンス」を、スペシャルソロバージョンで繰り広げる。さらに2人は「ナイツ・テイル」より「騎士物語」「兵士の重荷」「狩猟」「昇る太陽」「乾杯」の5曲のメドレーを、エミーリア役の音月桂、牢番の娘役の上白石萌音ら同作の共演者と共に、ジェロルド役の大澄賢也のステージングでパフォーマンス。同じく「ナイツ・テイル」からは、堂本演じるアーサイトと井上演じるパラモンによる「宿敵がまたとない友」も披露される。番組内では、堂本と井上が「ナイツ・テイル」公演で感じたことや、互いのミュージカル人生を語り合う対談もオンエア。2人のトークの内容に合わせて紹介される、「ナイツ・テイル」の舞台裏や本番の様子を収めた映像にも注目しよう。
